The international hacker and activist group, Anonymous, has expressed support for protesters in Georgia against the "foreign agents" law and threatened the government of the "Georgian Dream" with cyberattacks and data disclosure.

This was reported by Echo of the Caucasus.

During the night of May 1st, when Georgian special forces again used special means and physical force against demonstrators in the center of Tbilisi, hackers addressed the participants of the protests with words of support. They promised to help the protesters "in the fight for democracy, freedom, and prosperity."

Anonymous also addressed the Georgian police and authorities.

"An attack on protesters will lead to the disclosure of information about all your government officials. We will seize all your databases and email accounts and publish them on the internet. This is the first and only warning. The 'Dream' party, supported by Russia, remember: Georgia is not Russia and will never be. Wait for us," the message published on Telegram reads.

Anonymous refers to themselves as "hacktivists" and claim to act according to a certain ideology and "punish" governments, corporations, and organizations with which they disagree.

Anonymous is attributed with dozens of cyberattacks on governments of many countries worldwide. They have blocked websites of government agencies and corporations in the USA, Israel, Tunisia, Uganda, and other countries, as well as PayPal, MasterCard, Visa, and Sony.

The Anonymous movement is a strong supporter of Ukraine. Since February 2022, following Russia's massive invasion of Ukraine, the hacker movement has claimed responsibility for a series of cyberattacks on websites of Russian government agencies and media.
