Citizens of Israel have appealed to the representatives of their country's government calling for the transfer of decommissioned Patriot missile systems to Ukraine.

The text of the petition with the option for voting has been published online.

According to information on the official website of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and in Israeli media, Israel is discontinuing the use of the MIM-104 Patriot air defense system in favor of domestic systems like David’s Sling.

In light of this, citizens have launched a petition and addressed the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the current Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, urging them to consider transferring Patriot systems to Ukraine.

"Due to the fact that the IDF is withdrawing the "Patriot" missile system from its service in the Air Force, we, the citizens of Israel and representatives of the Jewish community in Ukraine and around the world, request that the Israeli government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,  Minister of Defense Yoav Galant, and members of the Knesset make a clear decision to transfer the MIM-104 Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, we have witnessed daily aerial terrorism against the citizens of Ukraine, who are being killed in cold blood by the ruthless Russian government. Iran and Russia are strengthening the supply of weapons to terrorist organizations, increasing cooperation in the development and use of non-conventional weapons against humanity, and assisting each other with the goal of destroying our countries. It is only appropriate that we also unite forces, build strong alliance and support each other through the transfer of technologies, the development of knowledge resources, and international advocacy.

The transfer of defense systems to Ukraine, which are no longer in use, could be a decisive step in dealing with the increasing terror threat from Russia and Iran, and in neutralizing their attacks on the inhabitants of Ukraine, including a large Jewish population. Additionally, the transfer would be an important step in supporting democratic and free values in the world, enabling the unification of forces at the international level, and opening another important chapter in the strengthing relations between Israel and Ukraine," the appeal stated.
