The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has issued an order to close some seaports
In connection with the full-scale war waged by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022 against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in violation of international law, launching missile strikes throughout Ukraine and committing crimes against our society, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine issued an order April 28, 2022, â„– 256, registered with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on April 29, 2022 under â„– 470/37806 “On the closure of seaports”. According to the order from the date of its official publication, the seaports of Berdyansk, Mariupol, Skadovsk, and Kherson are closed until the resumption of control over these seaports.
Taking this measure is caused by the inability to service ships and passengers, cargo, transport and other related economic activities, ensuring an adequate level of shipping safety, compliance with international treaties of Ukraine, the binding nature of which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and also ensuring the protection of the environment at a time when Russia continues to wage hostilities in these regions, which threatens human life and health.
We will definitely resume the work of these seaports after Ukraine’s victory over the Russian occupier.
The project “Ukrainian bookshelf” under the patronage of Elena Zelenskaya has started in Austria
The project “Ukrainian Bookshelf” under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska has started at the National Library of Austria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements it, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Ukrainian Book Institute.
The project was planned before the beginning of the Russian aggression and provided for distributing of Ukrainian literature in the original and translations in the world’s top libraries. This would develop cultural ties between countries and promote Ukrainian literature worldwide. According to pre-war plans, the project was supposed to start in March, but its implementation was delayed for some reason. Finally, work on the project resumed.

During the meeting of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Austria Vasyl Khiminets with the Director of the National Library of Austria, Johanna Rachinger, an agreement was reached on the development and expansion of the Ukrainian segment of the institution: the library is ready to cooperate with Ukrainian publishers and buy books. Vasyl Khiminets provided a list of such publishers for further cooperation.

In addition, a presentation of Lina Kostenko’s poems translated into German was held in the library the day before. The event was timed to the 92nd anniversary of the poetess, which she celebrated on March 19.
The library administration informs that visiting the book collection and its museums is free for Ukrainians.
First Lady Olena Zelenska stressed the importance of the project during the war.
“Even under fire, we want to think not only about survival but also about books, about creativity – about everything that saves us from the chaos of war and destruction and gives spiritual strength. Thank you, Austrian friends. By protecting our literature, you are saving Ukraine in this way. After all, in a sense, we are all that we read,” said the President’s wife.

Police conduct large-scale checking in Odessa: weapons and prohibited symbols are found
This was reported in the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police.
According to the Department, the special services of the Russian Federation, under the control of criminals, intended to destabilize the situation in the region by inciting riots, organizing mass protests and riots that could undermine statehood and overthrow the state system of Ukraine.

According to the enemy’s plans, they were to influence and act through their proxies who settled in the Odessa region. The final date for implementing criminal strategies was the anniversary of the tragic events – May 2.
In order to prevent the development of such events, operatives and investigative police, together with the DBR, are conducting large-scale training of persons who may be involved in illegal activities.

As a result, a significant number of various weapons, communist paraphernalia, brochures with communist and other forbidden symbols, manuals with instructions on rules of conduct, conspiracy measures, and surveillance for sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been confiscated. In addition, grenades, ammunition, mobile phones, and electronic media.

Activities are currently underway. After carrying out all the necessary procedural measures, the actions of each person will be given a legal qualification.

Stealing grain from Ukrainians is a bad end for the invaders
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has recently received a lot of information from farmers in the temporarily occupied territories that the Russian invaders are stealing their grain en masse.
These facts were confirmed by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky in an interview with Nastoyaschee Vremya TV channel.
“All agribusiness, which traditionally communicates with each other, knows about these facts. I personally hear this from many elevator owners in the occupied territories. This is an outright robbery, which is sometimes even attempted to document, even to draw up some acts. And this is happening everywhere in the occupied territories – an exceptional surge has been observed over the past two weeks,” Mykola Solsky said.

According to the Minister, all this is reminiscent of the 1930s and once again shows the true face of the Russian aggressor.
Mykola Solsky predicts that such a situation could threaten certain food problems in the currently temporarily uncontrolled territories.
“There will soon be a wheat harvest in the south. But farmers in this situation may well say: “Here are the keys to the tractor – go collect yourself, if you want,” – he added. According to Mykola Solsky, this path will end badly for the invaders.
As for the course of sowing throughout Ukraine, according to the Minister of Agrarian Policy, farmers in all regions of Ukraine, from Kharkiv to Lviv, are currently facing difficulties. But everywhere, they try to sow.
“Agrarians are confident in themselves, in the army. They have the same support mood as all the citizens who are now fighting for their independence. I believe that those who decide to sow are doing absolutely the right thing, despite some difficulties with the logistics of grain and the availability of fuel, which is currently available,” said the Minister.
The war in Ukraine and the food problems caused by it are affecting many countries around the world and almost the entire African continent.
Сourt arrested 51 Belarusian tank cars that crossed the Chernihiv region border on the eve of the Russian invasion
Investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations of Kyiv initiated the arrest of 51 railway tank cars owned by the Republic of Belarus, which crossed the border with Ukraine on February 23. After the invasion, they provided logistics for the occupying Russian troops advancing in the direction of Chernihiv-Sumy. The tanks were filled with 3,000 tons of Belarusian and Russian diesel fuel. The products were allegedly destined for oil companies that are within Medvedchuk’s sphere of influence.

After the liberation of the Chernihiv region from Russian invaders, DBR investigators initiated a petition to the Pechersk District Court to seize the discovered property. Currently, the DBR is taking measures to transfer the seized assets to the Agency for Search and Management of Assets, and further – to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Some of the tanks were somewhat “damaged” after the successful fighting of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but after the conclusions of the examination and repairs, they will also be used by the state.

According to this fact, a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – planning, preparation or resolution of aggressive war or military conflict, as well as participation in a conspiracy aimed at committing such acts.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office provides procedural guidance.
