Volodymyr Zelensky: Our path is path of independence, territorial integrity, integration with civilized world, path of Russia is defeat and shame

The enemy started this day with a deliberate and absolutely premeditated murder of Ukrainians in Zaporizhzhia. A missile attack on a civilian convoy of cars.

As of now, 30 dead are reported. Almost a hundred wounded and traumatized.

The Russian military knew where their missiles would hit. Non-humans did it. From the first to the last. From the one who gave this order and to everyone who executed this order. They will answer. For sure. Before the law and before people. People!

That is why we are confident of our victory. That is why we took the initiative in the war. That is why we’re getting tangible results on the battlefield right now… and that’s very important. Congratulations to the heroes!

As we remain human and gain support from people – from all the people of the world. From everyone who feels pain when they learn about the deliberate killing of innocent people.

Another farce took place in Moscow today. Something was celebrated there. They were chanting something there. They sang in the square. They were talking about Zaporizhzhia… When they themselves arranged such a thing in Zaporizhzhia. They are non-humans. Eternal memory to all those killed in Russian terrorist attacks!

Today, Ukraine made decisions to defend itself. All of them will be implemented. Decisions of the National Security and Defense Council and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters.

I already reported in detail this afternoon about our request for an accelerated accession to join NATO. And about the obvious readiness of Ukraine for negotiations with the Russian Federation – but with another President of Russia, who will understand what is happening.

Now, I want to add something about the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities. There is a really long list, quite famous names.

However, we are not focused on volume, but on actually dismantling Russian influence and at the same time influencing the state of affairs in the Russian Federation itself.

Therefore, restrictions are introduced against several thousand individuals and entities. Sanctions of Ukraine and our partners are synchronized. New sanctions are being introduced against key persons and significant Russian enterprises.

Of course, sanctions will also be applied to those citizens of other countries who took part in the Russian farce on the occupied territory of our country.

Pseudo-referendums are elements of aggression against a sovereign state, and anyone involved in organizing or conducting this farce will be held accountable.

Today, I spoke with the Prime Ministers of Japan and Denmark. Of course, they condemned the new Russian steps towards escalation. Thanks to them for their support!

Thanks also to all the leaders of the partner states, to all the political and public figures of the world, who have already quite promptly spoken out in defense of Ukraine and international law!

I personally thank President Biden, Congress, our friends in Europe and everyone who is already strengthening sanctions against Russia and is already taking powerful steps to increase defense and financial support for Ukraine!

We must liberate our entire land, and this will be the best proof that international law and human values cannot be broken by any terrorist state, even one as insolent as Russia.

We have substantial results in the east of our country. There is already enough public information about this. Everyone has heard what is happening in Lyman, Donetsk region. These are steps that mean a lot to us.

And I am thankful to all our fighters for implementing this element of our defense plan! It is very important.

Today, I especially want to recognize the fighters of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade and the 54th separate mechanized brigade for their constant bravery and heroism in the Siversky and Bakhmut areas. And also our servicemen of the 214th separate rifle battalion, the Special Operations Forces and the 103rd separate ground defense brigade for the liberation of Yampil.

I am also thankful to our intelligence units – Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine.

The path of our country is difficult. The path is clear. This is the path of independence, territorial integrity, integration with the civilized world and social development. The path of our enemy is also completely clear – defeat, shame and condemnation.

And one more. Every year on the last day of September, Ukraine celebrates Adoption Day. This, in my opinion, is an important day.

It is a day of special respect for those whose hearts are big enough to give family warmth to children left without parental care.

Today, I thank all such Ukrainian men and women! I dream that we will come to such a result, when every child of Ukraine will feel family warmth, no matter what the circumstances of life are.

Eternal glory to our beautiful people! Eternal glory to everyone who fights for Ukraine! We work for one thing – victory!

Glory to Ukraine!

Operational information on 30.09.2022

The two hundred-nineteenth (219) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a Russian military large-scale invasion continues.

The enemy continues to focus its efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Donetsk region and hold the captured territories, as well as disrupt the active actions of the Defence Forces in certain directions. The enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line, conducting aerial reconnaissance. Strikes civilian infrastructure and peaceful residential areas, violating international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war. There remains the threat of air and missile strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine.

The enemy continues to focus its efforts on attempts to fully occupy the Donetsk region and hold the temporarily captured territories, as well as to disrupt the active actions of the Defence Forces in certain areas. The enemy is shelling the positions of our troops along the contact line, conducting aerial reconnaissance. Attacks civilian infrastructure and civilian homes, violating International Humanitarian Law, laws and customs of war.

The enemy launched 3 missiles and 5 air strikes, carried out more than 15 MLRS attacks on military and civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine.

In the morning of September 30, the Russian occupiers committed another act of terrorism, launched a rocket attack on a convoy of civilian vehicles moving for humanitarian purposes through the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. The strikes were made by S-300 air defence missiles. According to preliminary information, at least 25 people killed, and many more were injured.

In addition, the enemy continues to use Iranian-made Shahed-136 attack UAVs to destroy the civil infrastructure of cities.

More than 25 settlements were affected by enemy strikes. In particular, Kostyantynivka, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, Hulyaipole, Rydkodub, Bilohorivka, Novoandriyivka, Blahodativka and Myrolyubivka.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly.

In other directions, the enemy continues shelling populated areas with tanks and artillery of various types:

  • in the Slobozhansk direction – in the areas of the settlements of Uda, Strilecha, Zelene, Neskuchne, Prystin and Kupyansk;
  • in the Kramatorsk direction – in the areas of Bilohorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Blakytni Ozera settlements;
  • in the Bakhmut direction – Soledar, Spirne, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Zayitseve and New York;
  • in the Avdiivka direction – Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Vodyane, Karlivka, Pervomayiske, Tonenka, Maryinka and Novomykhayilivka;
  • in the Novopavlivskyi direction – in the areas of Novoukrayinka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Pavlivka, Vremivka, Neskuchne and Shevchenko settlements.

The enemy did not conduct active offensives in the Zaporizhzhya direction. Fire damage was caused in the areas of Zaliznychne, Dorozhnyanka, Novopil, Temyrivka, Bilohirya, Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka and Kamiyanske settlements.

Tanks, mortars and barrel artillery shelled areas of more than thirty settlements along the contact line in the South Buh direction. Among them are Novohrihorivka, Partyzanske, Kiselivka, Blahodativka, Kalynivka, Visokopillya, Arkhanhelske, Osokorivka and Bila Krynytsia.

Partial mobilization continues in the Russian Federation. In the Khabarovsk Kray, officials responsible for selecting and preparing mobilization resources have established new corruption “tariffs”. Thus, a postponement of mobilization costs 100 thousand rubles, which is an almost unattainable amount for the majority of the local population.

The occupation command is trying to implement forced mobilization measures in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Cases of detention of local men of draft age have become more frequent in Kherson. After a superficial determination of suitability for military service, they are sent to equip units that are planned to be used in the area of hostilities. In Berdyansk, employees of some enterprises that remained working in the occupied territory were forcibly demobilized. In addition, reinforced units of the Russian guard arrived in the city to suppress the local population’s possible resistance.

Over the past day, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Mayorsk, Zaytseve, Odradivka and Bakhmutske settlements.

Aviation of the Defence Forces made 9 strikes. It was confirmed that one stronghold, three areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, as well as five enemy anti-aircraft missile systems were hit. In addition, Ukrainian air defence units shot down one UAV.

Missile troops and artillery hit six command posts, thirteen areas of concentration of manpower, weapons, and military equipment, two warehouses with ammunition, one anti-aircraft missile complex, and four means of enemy missile troops and artillery.

We believe in the Armed Forces!
Glory to Ukraine!

Volodymyr Zelensky: We are taking our decisive step by signing Ukraine’s application for accelerated accession to NATO

De facto allies. Today, here in Kyiv, in the heart of our country, we are taking a decisive step for the security of the entire community of free nations.

We see who threatens us. Who is ready to kill and maim. Who in order to expand his zone of control does not stop at any savagery.

On February 24, the first full-scale attack on Ukraine was carried out. The first!

Russia would not have stopped at our borders if we had not stopped it. Other states would have been under attack. The Baltic countries, Poland, Moldova and Georgia, Kazakhstan…

Russia claimed to subjugate various nations of Europe and Asia. Claimed six months ago. This criminal ambition is breaking down in Ukraine. It was broken down in the suburbs of Kyiv and Chernihiv. In “Azovstal”. In the Sumy region and Kharkiv region. On Snake (Zmiinyi) Island. It will be broken down in Donbas and in the south of Ukraine when we liberate them. Definitely – in Crimea, in the free Ukrainian Crimea.

The entire territory of our country will be liberated from this enemy – the enemy not only of Ukraine, but also of life itself, humanity, law and truth.

Russia already knows this. It feels our power. It sees that it is here, in Ukraine, that we prove the strength of our values. And that is why it is in a hurry. Organizes this farce with the attempted annexation. Tries to steal something that does not belong to it. Wants to rewrite history and redraw borders with murders, torture, blackmail and lies.

Ukraine will not allow that.

Today I held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. The meeting of the National Security and Defense Council has just ended. We have a decision.

First – it is only the path of strengthening Ukraine and ousting the occupiers from our entire territory that restores peace. We will complete this path.

Second – Ukraine was and remains a leader in negotiation efforts. It was our state that always offered Russia to reach an agreement on coexistence on equal, honest, decent and fair terms. It is obvious that this is impossible with this Russian president. He does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but already with another president of Russia.

And third – we must de jure record everything we have already achieved de facto. It is in Ukraine that the fate of democracy in the confrontation with tyranny is being decided. It is here, with the firmness of our state borders, that we can secure the firmness of the borders of all European states. We can guarantee that no one else will dare to bring war back to our continent.

It is here, in Ukraine, that the values of our Euro-Atlantic community have obtained real vital energy. The strength of the nation that fights for freedom, and the strength of the nations that help in this fight.

We are de facto allies. This has already been achieved. De facto, we have already completed our path to NATO. De facto, we have already proven interoperability with the Alliance’s standards, they are real for Ukraine – real on the battlefield and in all aspects of our interaction.

We trust each other, we help each other and we protect each other. This is what the Alliance is. De facto.

Today, Ukraine is applying to make it de jure. Under a procedure consistent with our significance for the protection of our entire community. Under an accelerated procedure.

We know it’s possible. We have seen Finland and Sweden start accession to the Alliance this year without a Membership Action Plan.

This is fair. This is also fair for Ukraine. This is the consolidation at the level of the treaty of what has already been achieved in life and what are our values.

We understand that this requires the consensus of all members of the Alliance. We understand that it is necessary to reach such a consensus. And therefore, while this is happening, we offer to implement our proposals regarding security guarantees for Ukraine and all of Europe in accordance with the Kyiv Security Compact, which was developed and presented to our partners.

Security has no alternatives. But determination is needed to guarantee it.

We are taking our decisive step by signing Ukraine’s application for accelerated accession to NATO.

Today, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine adopted a decision to impose sanctions on significant individuals and legal entities of Russia who did not have the courage to speak out in defense of humanity and international law, or who in one way or another are involved in aggressive steps against Ukraine and the community of democratic nations.

And at the same time, I am addressing the people’s deputies of Ukraine: at the next session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a draft law on the nationalization of all Russian assets will be considered, which should significantly simplify this procedure. Please endorse this bill without delay.

We are completing the dismantling of Russian influence on Ukraine, Europe and the world.

Glory to Ukraine!

Arestovich: Russia wants to keep Putin’s regime

The authorities of the Russian Federation voluntarily turn the state into North Korea without the prospect of restoring normal relations.

In Russia, they want to keep the Putin regime. The Russians are ready to turn their country into North Korea.

Arestovich said this in a conversation with Russian human rights activist Mark Feygin. According to the adviser, the Russians can no longer consider the prospects.

“They moved into the zone of instant decisions. They can ruin the prospect, several billion dollars, simply because they want to cut off Europe, which is already full of gas storage. I do not rule out an attempt by Moscow to strike at the Ukrainian gas transportation system. They decided to cut themselves off from Europe in general, they say, you will all freeze. The authorities of the Russian Federation are voluntarily turning the state into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea without the prospect of restoring normal relations,” Arestovich said.

“They have no strategy left at all. Dead end – in English it sounds like a dead end. Everything they do only aggravates the situation. Mobilization is the clearest example. The threat of the use of nuclear weapons is the clearest example,” he said.

“I physically feel how the remnants of reason, reasonable people are fighting in the Kremlin with such “well, what? What are the options? Well, something needs to be done, otherwise, it’s like … “This, of course, is a circus on a dart. This is a Russo-Japanese war in a cube. World history probably does not know such a grandiose self-draining. Just a huge state merges with, as we thought, smart people, but turned out to be dumber than dumb ones,” Arestovich added.

“Well, what are the strategies there? Everything is spreading there, the country is like wet paper in their hands. They are killing it themselves,” said the adviser to the OP.

Aleksey Arestovych believes that most of the repressive measures introduced by the Kremlin during the “partial” mobilization and “accession” of territories are directed against the citizens of the Russian Federation themselves, and Putin’s goal is to transform Russia into an absolutely totalitarian state.

Postcards from Ukraine: DakhaBrakha narrated the story of the Ascension Church in the Chernihiv region

The members of the DakhaBrakha, Ukrainian folk music quartet — Marko Halanevych, Nina Harenetska, Iryna Kovalenko, and Olena Tsybulska — narrated the story of the Ascension Church in the village of Lukashivka in the Chernihiv region, destroyed by the Russian invaders. The aim is to let the whole world know about the crimes of the Russian army.

The Ascension Church in the village of Lukashivka was the first wooden church built on its site in 1781 and dismantled at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1913, it was replaced by a stone temple — a cruciform building with a two-tiered belfry, designed in the eparchial architectural style, which was popular in the Russian Empire of that time. After seizing power in Ukraine, the Bolsheviks terminated the function of the church and used it as a warehouse until 1988. Many temples faced a similar fate being unfortunate enough to fall under Soviet control.

On the 21st day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as a result of fierce battles, the church was destroyed with its facades, domes with crosses, and interiors mutilated. When the Armed Forces of Ukraine expelled the Russian forces from the Chernihiv region, rescuers found not only the remains of ammunition and garbage but also human bodies on the temple’s territory.

Entire generations in Lukashivka have consolidated around the local church for years. This was the place where they exchanged vows, baptised their children, prayed, and accompanied family and friends on their final journey. The site’s activities flourished until Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

“Our band sings, in particular, about the people’s memory, which goes back ages and which Russia has been trying to erase for centuries,” Olena Tsybulska noted in the video.

One can destroy the walls, but can never destroy the memory.

“Postcards from Ukraine” project tells about destroyed monuments of Ukraine. With the support of USAID, a single database was created with about 100 monuments, where you can see the scale of the destruction and read the history of each monument in English and Ukrainian.

The project team urges you to tell the world about the destruction of Ukrainian culture, distribute postcards on social networks and send them to your friends abroad so that the world learns the truth about how Russia is destroying the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Mark Feygin: US generals dream of demolishing the Kremlin

According to the oppositionist, Moscow mistakenly thinks that they can threaten the whole world with nuclear weapons and will not receive an answer to this.

Moscow believes that they can scare Ukraine with nuclear weapons, take it “on a show off”, and only weaklings sit in the Pentagon and will not be able to respond to threats. But in reality, American generals have long wanted to fire missiles at the Kremlin.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian oppositionist Mark Feygin for Balakanka.

“Perhaps there are some internal mechanisms to explain somehow what will happen to all of you, what will happen to your families, animals, children, grandchildren and so on inside the decision-making center – Putin’s entourage … When it comes to this, they will stop fussing! No one will even figure out whether it is possible or not. Then they will figure it out,” Feygin said.

He noted that the Kremlin believes that they can threaten the whole world, but there is no one and nothing to answer them with.

“There is a feeling in the Kremlin, in the General Staff, that “generals in tights” are sitting in the Pentagon – they are weaklings, cowards, they don’t know how to fight. Who instilled this in them – I can’t understand. They play with such a dangerous story for themselves because of a misunderstanding. The Kremlin believes that they can threaten and in fact there is no one and nothing to answer. This is such a big misconception! This is such a deep misunderstanding!” the oppositionist says.

But at the same time, according to him, there are still people in Moscow who understand the whole situation.

“I think they’re telling the story that it’s better not to joke with this. Americans are Americans, but there are crazy people out there! What do you want to try?” – interested in Feygin.

According to experts, in case Putin decides to launch a nuclear warhead, the actions of the West and not only to prevent a strike will be instantaneous.
