ARTBAT Ukrainian duo will play at Coachella 2022
The Coachella Festival will be held for the first time since 2019 on April 15-17 and 22-24 in the Coachella Valley, California. The Ukrainian electronic duo ARTBAT also got into the lineup.
Harry Stiles, Billy Isle and Kanye West (Ye) are the headliners of the festival, which has not been pandemic in the last two years.
The ARTBAT duo consists of two experienced Kyiv DJs and producers, Arthur and Batish. They met in 2015. Their music lives in the playlists of even the most fastidious audience, with an enviable pace, they release new releases on European music labels and in just a few years have become, perhaps, the most sought-after Ukrainian artists on the world electronic stage. This is how ARTBAT project was born.
In the summer of the same year, they played a DJ set as part of the Ostrov Festival, the largest electronic event in Ukraine.
Success came to ARTBAT from the first release. In 2015, the duo released the single “Mandrake”, released on the label Definition: Music. The track quickly broke out of local clubs and festivals and entered the set lists of world-famous DJs, including Richie Hawtin and Maceo Plex.
“Mandrake” did not leave the Beatport Top 100 chart for several months and became one of the most successful releases of Definition: Music. At the same time, ARTBAT’s music has been noticed by owners of many reputable European labels, such as Fryhide (owned by German producer HOSH), Diynamic Music (Solomon), Afterlife (Tale Of Us), and Watergate Records.
The duo performed at the festivals Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Strakwerk, EXIT, Afterlife, Ultra, Loveland, and others, skated a tour of the United States, recorded Essential Mix for the BBC.
In 2019, ARTBAT was invited to play on the most impressive music live stream on the planet – Cercle. Traditionally, the platform team invites electronic artists worldwide to perform at absolutely atypical locations and broadcasts the party in real-time on their social networks. ARTBAT’s negotiations with Cercle organizers lasted about a year – agreeing on a date, choosing a location, and many other technical issues. Ultimately, the result met all expectations – in March 2019, the duo performed on the top of the Pao de Azucar mountain in Rio de Janeiro. The video with the performance of Ukrainians in the Cercle project garnered more than 19 million views.
In 2019, ARTBAT was recognised as the “Breakthrough of the Year” at the DJ Awards – a prestigious award in the world of electronic music.
The geography of ARTBAT performances impresses with its scale. The duo’s name has repeatedly appeared in the lineups of key electronic festivals worldwide – be it DGTL, Loveland or UNTOLD.
