The head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Kutsiy met with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Odessa Mr. Birey Yılmazsoy. The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Vyacheslav Ovechkin and the Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration for Digital Transformation Anastasia Bondar. The head of the Odessa Regional State Administration congratulated the diplomat on his appointment and wished him a successful diplomatic service.

We talked about the important thing: how to increase the bilateral flow of tourists to our countries, and how to help business. Now the Republic of Turkey occupies one of the first places to which Ukrainian agricultural products are actively exported and the second among the countries from which Ukraine imports. Our region is interested in deepening mutually beneficial ties in all spheres, because a large Turkish community lives in the Odessa region.

Maksym Kutsiy, Head of Odessa Region

He also thanked the Turkish side for cooperation in the medical field and humanitarian aid for our hospitals. In addition, the Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration for Digital Transformation spoke about the direction of digitalization, in particular in combating the pandemic of coronavirus and administrative services.

Now in a pandemic, it is important for us to create comfortable and safe conditions for everyone. One of the new processes in our country is the digital transformation. Namely: translation of any information or services into digital form. From now on, we can quickly register a business, get a driver's license or perform many other services from a phone or laptop. Avoiding queues and bureaucratic processes. Another good example of digitization is the translation of documents from paper to electronic format. This will greatly facilitate the flow of documents and the provision of public services for citizens. In addition, holders of e-passports can travel within the country without a paper counterpart.

Anastasia Bondar, Head of Digital Transformation Dept of Odessa region

Mr. Consul General Birey Yılmazsoy expressed gratitude for the long-standing friendly relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey and hoped for the strengthening of relations between our countries.
The head of the Odessa Regional State Administration noted that the visit of the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey to Odessa Mr. Birey Yılmazsoy will give an impetus to deepen cooperation and become the basis for new joint projects between Ukraine and Turkey.
