The Russian elites understand that the Russian Federation will not be able to win the war against Ukraine, but they still hope for a "draw". Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, said this on the air of the Ukraina Channel 24.

"Nobody hopes for success there for a long time, except perhaps a few sick people. There is an understanding of fatal hopelessness. At best, they hope for a stalemate or a draw, when it will be possible to preserve their interests. But the fact that this is a strategic defeat for the Russian military-political leadership and the business elite has been clear for a long time," said the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The representative of military intelligence of Ukraine added that influential people in Russia are not yet ready to resist the ruling regime.

"There is understanding, but there is no readiness for resistance. The maximum so far is readiness to try to protect their personal interests in exchange for some information or interaction. It already is. Well, I think there will be a readiness for more decisive actions in the future," Andriy Yusov said.
