Aeroflot, due to sanctions, for the first time in the history of the company, sent its Airbus A330-300 aircraft for repairs to Iran, where the aircraft will be serviced by technicians from the largest Iranian carrier Mahan Air, RBC writes, citing sources.

Specialists of the Iranian airline, according to the publication, will carry out maintenance of the landing gear of the airliner. Previously, for these purposes, Aeroflot previously used the capacities of other providers, particularly Hong Kong's HAECO, but due to sanctions, repair services and the supply of spare parts to Russian airlines ceased.

According to sources of the publication, Aeroflot discussed the possibility of maintenance in Iran for several months. Aeroflot representatives assure that Mahan Air "has the necessary material base, certificates, and vast experience, the provider performs maintenance with a high level of quality."
