Company director Andriy Yerokhin announced this on his Facebook page.

"In the past, during the "golden times" of the Izmail port, the most significant annual volume of cargo transshipment reached 7.3 million tons in 1989. It is not difficult to calculate that, on average, it was about 585 thousand tons for the month, and the highest figure for the month was reached in May of that year when 712 thousand tons were transshipped. That is, in March of this year, we exceeded this record!" - said the director of the port.

It was possible to achieve such success, even though the company's staff is now half as small as in 1989. Yerokhin added at that time, the number of Izmail port workers was about 2,860. Now it is 1,424.

"This milestone was not easy for us - various types of cargo, in particular, general, bulk, containers, which technologically have a different approach taking into account safe working conditions, because for us it is important not only to perform on time and ahead of time our obligations to our partners but also to preserve the health and lives of our employees because this is the most important thing," concluded Andriy Yerokhin.

He also said that in March, the company handled 88 sea vessels - that's 365.3 thousand tons of cargo. The export volume through Izmail Trade Port amounted to 506,888 thousand tons, import - 209,004 thousand tons.
