Chef, TV and radio presenter, ambassador of Ukrainian cuisine in the world, laureate of the Global Chef Awards 2017 in Singapore for his contribution to the development of gastronomy and winner of the gold medal from the French association Best of Gastronomie Yuriy Kovryzhenko - continues to promote Ukrainian cuisine in the world. Yurii always dreamed of making Ukrainian cuisine world-famous and he dedicated the last 10 years for this. His author's molecular borscht impressed even the Michelin Guide.

"The war made adjustments in the lives of all Ukrainians, I got stuck during a working visit in London and over the past 5 months our team helped raise millions of UAH for Ukraine," says Yuriy Kovryzhenko. - I always had a dream to make Ukrainian cuisine world famous and today I can say that my dream is coming true. We opened a Ukrainian restaurant in London, the establishment name is "Mriya Neo Bistro."

Kovryzhenko has also revealed that the restaurant's staff mainly consists of refugees who have been forced to leave Ukraine because of the Russian invasion. He says the restaurant will "tell the story of modern and incredible Ukraine in the language of taste and cosiness."

Here are a few examples of dishes from the menu:

  • Borsch with porcini mushrooms and duck
  • Chicken Kyiv with mashed baby potato and green peas
  • Poppyseeds cake with caramelized condensed milk
  • Zucchini pancakes with stracciatella and smoked trout
  • Vinaigrette with strawberries on green pea cream and crayfish necks.

Yuriy Kovryzhenko said that the staff's uniform for the London establishment is sewn by the best, in his opinion, manufacturer in Ukraine - Abrikos, the design of Mriya Neo Bistro is developed by Ukrainian architects from Replus bureau.

By the way, Yuriy Kovryzhenko has already participated in the opening of Ukrainian restaurants in Seoul and Tbilisi.

Mriya translates to ‘dream’ in Ukrainian,” says Kovryzhenko. “Dream of victory, dream of come back home and meet with family, dream to restore our country, dream of a peaceful sky for our children.”
