Moldovan Railways and Ukrzaliznytsya JSC reached the agreement the re-establish train connection between Moldova and Ukraine.

Starting from 28.08.2021, the passenger train 642/641 Odessa-Chisinau- Odessa is scheduled to depart from Odessa at 18:36, arrival to Chisinau at 22:33, departure from Chisinau at 07:09, arrival in Odessa at 10:55. The train will run daily.

Two years ago, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the train was cancelled. Thanks to this train, tourists from Moldova can now easily reach Odessa. This service was very popular over 20 years ago, but today, with the development of personal cars, interest in train travel has consequently diminished.

However, they reported that cars with the Transdnistrian registration will no longer be allowed into Ukraine, and this train may well become an alternative for residents of Transdnistria to go to the sea.
