The Ukrainian shipyard Nibulon in Nikolaev signed a contract on November 30 for the construction of five boats according to the French project for the maritime security of Ukraine.

According to the contract signed with the French company OCEA, Nibulon will build five of the twenty boats FPB 98 MKI ordered by the maritime guard for the maritime guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

As a result of the agreement, we will be able not only to create a powerful fleet for the State Border Guard Service, but also to raise the potential of our companies to the European level. As a result, for their French colleagues, they will discover Ukraine even more and will be confident in our reliability as partners in business.

It is expected that five boats will be built and launched in Nikolaev by the end of 2023. The construction project FPB 98 MKI already began at Nibulon in the summer.

The length of the French ships is 32 meters, the crew is 13 people, the maximum speed is 35 knots (65 km / h), the cruising range is 1200 miles at a speed of 12 knots. The hulls of the ships will be built of marine aluminum, which will reduce their draft and allow them to work in shallow water.

The first boat of the series is to arrive from France to Odessa next spring. In the future, the ships are planned to be deployed in Odessa, Nikolaev, Mariupol, Berdyansk, Izmail and Kiliya.
