Odessa airport summed up the results of 2020: we are the fourth, but Kharkov is on the heels.

Odessa International Airport has summed up the results of its activities over the past year. Despite a significant reduction due to the global pandemic, we remain in the top four airports in Ukraine. Kharkov is stepping on its heels, but the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Airport has also given up a lot: the difference is only 7,000 travellers.

The passenger traffic of the Odessa airport fell by 58 percent, amounting to 698 thousand people, due to the international lockdown.

Almost 547,000 people used international flights, and almost 152,000 people used domestic flights.

Among other interesting indicators: air gates served 9,332 flights (56% of the volume in 2019), implemented the concept of "Safe airport" during a pandemic: thermal imagers (temperature screening), sanitizing stations, disinfection of aircraft cabins and were the first in Ukraine to start cooperation with DUFRY is the world's # 1 duty free operator.

The advantages of the past year also include new destinations to Bologna, Bergamo, Rome, Dusseldorf-Weez with Ryanair, and to Lviv and Istanbul with SkyUp.

Unresolved, in the opinion of "Dumskaya", remained problems with the theft of baggage and a new runway, which was never certified and put into operation.

The five leaders of Ukrainian airports are as follows: Boryspil International Airport, 5 million 158 thousand passengers; Danila Galitsky L'viv, 878 thousand; Igor Sikorsky Kyiv, 704 thousand; Odessa, 698 thousand; Kharkov, 659 thousand.
