The Russian Defense Ministry announced the holding of "strategic exercises" Vostok-2022 "with the troops of the eastern military district and" the military contingent of other countries.

It is noted that the "exercises" should take place from August 30 to September 5 under the leadership of the Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces. They will be held at 13 training polygons.

"In addition to the forces of the district, airborne troops, long-range aviation and military transport aviation, as well as military contingents of other countries, will be involved in the maneuvers," the statement says.

According to the RF Ministry of Defense, during the "exercises," "issues of the use of groupings of troops (forces) in ensuring military security in the Eastern Region" will be worked out. At the same time, the department denied the mobilization of citizens for events.
