Employees of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion of ten more employees of the customs post "Mukachevo" of the Transcarpathian Customs. Due to the assistance of officials to companies controlled by Viktor Medvedchuk, the state budget lost more than 24 million hryvnias.

During 2017-2018, the company, from the sphere of influence of Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk imported oil and light distillates by rail and road. However, the documents stated that the tanks contained gas condensate, not excisable.

Customs officials "did not notice" substitutions and cleared light, and medium distillates as gas condensate during customs clearance. This allowed the organizers to evade paying excise tax and VAT on millions of UAH.

The Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation suspects customs officers of improper performance of official duties due to their dishonest treatment, which has caused serious consequences to the state's interests.

The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 5 years.

Procedural management is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General, operational support - by the Main Operational Department of the State Bureau of Investigation.

We will remind that Bureau already reported suspicion to three employees of this customs post this month because of which actions the state budget lost UAH 7,8 million at the import of the specified oil products.

The amount of established losses caused by this transaction is already more than UAH 31.8 million.
