Three more international transport corridors will pass through the Lviv region. This was announced by the head of the Lviv MA, Maksym Kozytsky.

The European Commission has joined Ukrainian logistics routes to the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).

In particular, it is about:

• The North-Baltic Corridor was extended through Lviv and Kyiv to Mariupol;
• The Balto – Black Sea – Aegean corridor was extended through Lviv, Chernivtsi (Romania and Moldova) to Odessa;
• The corridors Baltic Sea - Adriatic Sea and the Rhine - Danube will pass through Lviv.

Maksym Kozytsky explained that due to Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, sea transportation and closed skies are unavailable, imports and exports are carried out by land transport. Being a transit corridor between EU countries, a significant percentage of transport passes through the region.

In the future, this will make it possible to expand the transportation geography, improve logistics, and attract international investments for the repair and development of transport corridors of Ukraine.

In total, five international routes will now run through Lviv region. Previously, only two international transport corridors ran through the region. These are Brussels – Aachen – Cologne – Dresden – Wroclaw – Katowice – Krakow – Lviv – Kyiv and Venice – Trieste/Koper – Ljubljana – Maribor – Budapest – Uzhgorod – Lviv – Kyiv, reports Zahid.net.

The Trans-European Transport Network is designed to connect Europe from west to east and from north to south with a network of roads, railways, airports and waterways. Ukraine joined TEN-T in 2017.
