In 2024, slightly more than 26,000 new companies were registered in Ukraine, which is 2.7% less compared to 2023 (26.7 thousand).
This is according to a study by YouControl.
The highest number of new companies in 2024 were registered in Kyiv — 9.2 thousand, Dnipropetrovsk region — 2.2 thousand, and Lviv region — 2.1 thousand.
Across Ukraine, the most new companies in 2024 were registered in the following sectors: wholesale trade — 3.4 thousand, transport and logistics — 2.3 thousand, real estate operations — 2.2 thousand, construction — 2 thousand, and agriculture — 1.9 thousand.
Meanwhile, almost 3.3 thousand companies ceased operations. The highest number of closures was in Kyiv — 528, Dnipropetrovsk region — 395, Odessa region — 282, Lviv region — 239, and Kharkiv region — 201.
The rate of business closures in 2024 increased the most in Dnipropetrovsk (from 7.7% to 12.1%), Kharkiv (from 4.8% to 6.1%), and Poltava regions (from 3.1% to 4.1%).
In the agricultural sector, the share of businesses ceasing operations grew the most, from 15.4% to 17.4%.
