From Russian occupation, six children have been successfully returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine, announced Olexander Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
"Six children have been returned to the territory under Ukrainian control and saved from the camps of Russian forces. This includes one girl and five boys aged 5 to 12. Due to the threat of sending children to the so-called rehabilitation, parents dared to leave the occupation. There have been cases where children were taken and not returned home," he wrote in his Telegram channel on Tuesday.
The organization Save Ukraine worked on the return. Currently, the children are safe, and they are being attended to by medical professionals and psychologists.
According to Prokudin, since the beginning of 2024, 84 children have been returned to the territory under Ukrainian control from the Kherson region.
