The results of a survey conducted by the INSA Institute for BILD indicate that 61% of those surveyed in Germany support the cessation of admitting immigrants from Islamic countries to the Federal Republic of Germany. This survey was conducted after active pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli protests took place in the country amidst the escalation of the Middle Eastern conflict due to a terrorist attack by HAMAS on Israel on October 7.

In 2015, German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a statement regarding the country's refugee reception policy: "We can do it!" According to the survey results, 71.9% of Germany's residents, when looking back, disagree with this statement.

60% of respondents mentioned that the current anti-Israel demonstrations and actions by HAMAS supporters in Germany have made them fearful, and over 60% stated their support for the idea of discontinuing the admission of migrants from Islamic countries.

When asked what causes concern among Germany's residents, the majority of respondents (43%) said that they are most afraid of Islamism. 34% of those surveyed are most concerned about right-wing extremism, and only 7% expressed fear of left-wing extremism.
