On the night of September 7 (starting from 5:00 p.m. on September 6), the Russian forces launched a combined strike on Ukraine using attack UAVs and ground-based missiles. In total, during the assault, the Air Force’s radio-technical units detected and tracked 823 aerial threats:
- 810 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various decoy drones launched from Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), as well as Hvardiiske and Chauda in occupied Crimea;
- 9 Iskander-K cruise missiles from Russia’s Kursk region;
- 4 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from occupied Crimea.
Ukrainian air defense — including aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, drone defense systems, and mobile fire groups — repelled the attack.
As of 09:30, preliminary reports indicate that 751 aerial targets were intercepted or neutralized:
- 747 Shahed-type UAVs and various decoy drones;
- 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Confirmed hits include 9 missiles and 54 attack UAVs at 33 locations, as well as falling debris at 8 other sites.
