In the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, a depot containing Russian army ammunition exploded. This occurred on the evening of November 5th in the settlement of Sedove, near the border with Russia.
Local residents shared videos of the fire and powerful explosion on social media.
The settlement serves as a rear base for Russian occupiers and is located on the coast of the Azov Sea, far from the front line.
Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, reported that "almost the entire village has been turned into an ammunition depot and a parking lot for military vehicles." Reports from the scene suggest that only about a third of the depot had been destroyed at the time of the explosions on Sunday evening.
Powerful explosions were heard in Mariupol and other nearby settlements.
Sedove is located near the border with Russia, over 100 kilometers from the front line and 45 kilometers east of Mariupol.
It is currently unknown which weaponry the Armed Forces of Ukraine used to strike this depot of Russian occupant ammunition.
According to Andriushchenko, Russian military used Sedove as an operational base to stockpile ammunition. He reported that occupiers transported ammunition through Granitne to northern Donetsk and through Mariupol to the Zaporizhzhia region for combat operations against Ukrainian Defense Forces.
