Based on materials from the Security Service of Ukraine, the court has seized a large batch of industrial products and raw materials owned by the sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. The seized goods include nearly 500,000 tons of bauxite and alumina, produced in Ukraine before the full-scale invasion. These materials were stored at the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, previously owned by Deripaska.
The total value of the seized assets exceeds ₴2.11 billion. This product was a key component for aluminum production at Deripaska's Russian plants, specifically for his company Rusal.
According to the case materials, the bauxite and alumina belonged to Deripaska through a commercial structure registered in an EU country. This company was the formal purchaser of the products from the Mykolaiv plant for re-export to Deripaska’s Russian enterprises.
In early 2023, Ukrainian law enforcement uncovered the scheme and blocked the shipment of this raw material.
It is important to note that Deripaska is part of Putin's inner circle and manufactures products for Russia's military-industrial complex, including components for Iskander ballistic missiles, combat drones, and radar systems.
The Security Service of Ukraine has also issued charges against him in absentia for several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including financing Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Additionally, based on SBU materials, all of Deripaska’s factories in various regions of Ukraine have been nationalized.
These actions were carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
