On the night of July 28 (starting from 7:30 p.m. on July 27), the Russian forces launched an air attack using 331 aerial weapons (324 drones, 4 cruise missiles, and 3 aeroballistic missiles):
- 324 Shahed-type attack drones and other UAV decoys from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia);
- 4 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from the airspace over Saratov region (Russia);
- 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles launched from the airspace over Lipetsk region (Russia).
The main target of the strike was Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region!
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone system units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 09:30, air defense and electronic warfare forces downed or neutralized 311 of the enemy’s aerial weapons:
- 309 attack drones;
- 2 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
Two missiles of various types and 15 attack drones hit three locations. Debris from intercepted aerial threats also fell in several areas. The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles did not reach their targets.
