During the night of October 21 (starting from 7:00 p.m. on October 20), the Russian forces launched an attack using two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Russia’s Bryansk region, four S-300 surface-to-air missiles from the Kursk region, and 98 attack UAVs of various types — Shahed, Gerbera, and others — launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Chauda, Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). Around 70 of the drones were Shaheds.
The air assault was repelled by Ukrainian Air Force aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare and drone system units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
