During the night of May 23 (starting at 10:30 p.m. on May 22), the Russian forces launched an attack using an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Russia’s Rostov region, along with 175 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and decoy drones of various types from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).

The air assault was repelled by Ukrainian Defense Forces using aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare (EW) and drone system units, as well as mobile fire groups.

As of 1:00 p.m., Ukrainian air defense had neutralized 150 Shahed-type drones (and other types of UAVs) over the east, west, north, south, and center of the country.

Of those, 91 were shot down by firepower assets, and 59 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare (with no negative consequences).

As a result of the attack, the following regions were affected: Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Odessa, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
