On the night of July 2 (starting at 9:00 p.m. on July 1), the Russian forces launched an attack using four S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles from Russia’s Kursk region, along with 114 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and various decoy drones. The drones were launched from several directions: Bryansk, Shatalovo, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
As of 9:00 a.m., Ukrainian air defense had neutralized 79 Shahed-type and other drones across the northern, eastern, and southern regions of the country.
- 40 were destroyed by kinetic means (firepower)
- 39 were jammed or suppressed by electronic warfare (EW) systems
Russian strike drones hit 14 locations, and debris from downed UAVs fell in 2 additional locations.
