Local communities can purchase electronic warfare (EW) systems from civilian manufacturers to defend themselves against Russian drones and missiles.
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesperson for the Air Force, mentioned this during a telethon.
He highlighted that there are Ukrainian companies involved in the production of EW systems, including those from the civilian sector.
Ignat stated that local communities can procure these systems, thus mobilizing resources. He added that EW systems, particularly those from civilian manufacturers that have undergone verification, can help save lives.
"Some companies are already working on acquiring EW systems for protection. Ignat emphasized that this approach could be the future, eliminating the need to use expensive missiles if there are alternative methods to stop the enemy," concluded Yuriy Ignat.
It was reported in early January that the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry of Defense aim to open the market for EW systems, intending to develop it similarly to the drone market, which experienced a hundredfold growth in a year.
