Russian forces may be deploying around 200 jet-powered drones per day in attacks against Ukraine, according to Yurii Ihnat, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force.
"At present, it is approximately 100 during the day and 100 at night, even if we are talking exclusively about jet-powered UAVs. Russia also combines them with other types of drones," Ihnat said during a television broadcast.
According to the spokesperson, Ukrainian forces are gradually improving their ability to intercept jet-powered drones as they gain operational experience. However, Ukraine needs additional missiles and ammunition for ground-based air defence systems and aircraft.
Ihnat also stressed that even a small number of drones reaching their targets can cause significant damage to Ukrainian facilities.
