A delegation of ambassadors from 27 EU member states, members of the EU Political and Security Committee, visited Kyiv and assured Ukraine of continued support under all circumstances and by all possible means. This was stated by the head of the Committee, Ambassador Delfin Pronk, during a briefing in Kyiv.
She mentioned that the committee members, who address military support within the framework of the European Peace Facility and determine the strategic direction of the EU Military Assistance Mission (EUMAM), visited Kyiv for high-level meetings and to reaffirm the EU's unwavering support for Ukraine. Pronk also informed that the delegation met with Ukrainian soldiers who are being trained by EU member states' forces.
The diplomat emphasized that during a meeting with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, both sides highlighted their readiness to continue training Ukrainian military personnel as needed and to collaborate more closely with Ukraine's defense industry.
“This morning, we saw the best innovations that Ukraine can offer. Your innovations are also helping us in the EU, because we are learning from you while you resist this horrible aggressive war against your country,” said the EU committee head.
In response to questions about the re-election of Donald Trump, Pronk stated:
“All EU leaders and heads of state welcomed the re-election of the US president. We are ready to work with any partner – this is our constant message.”
She added that, based on what European states have done in the past, she has no doubts that the EU will continue to support Ukraine by all possible means.
The delegation of 27 ambassadors also honored the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred by laying flowers, although the ceremony was briefly interrupted by an air raid alarm.
