Since its establishment in September 2023, the IT coalition has raised €157 million to support Ukraine. This includes €70 million in contributions, with a notable €10 million donation from the Netherlands, and €87 million from Germany in the form of SAP licenses. From this amount, Ukraine has received equipment and software worth €99 million.
The coalition held another meeting in Amsterdam, having last convened in July. Since then, the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received new supplies from Canada, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and the UK. Equipment and licenses were centrally procured through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, thanks to contributions from Denmark and Luxembourg.
“Cybersecurity is one of our key focus areas. Supplies within the IT coalition will strengthen this direction, as Russians continue to attack our cyber infrastructure. These supplies will also help scale projects at the Innovation Center and further facilitate the implementation of SAP systems in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” noted Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernohrenko.
During the meeting, coalition members discussed the implementation of a roadmap, procurement activities, and the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces in building IT infrastructure.
“In addition to seeking funding by the end of 2024, the IT coalition is focusing on accelerating procurement and deliveries to Ukraine. Our goal is to supply as much equipment as possible to leverage the advantages that technology can provide on the battlefield,” emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense of Estonia Tuuli Duneton.
The IT coalition, led by Estonia and Luxembourg, is one of eight capability coalitions within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The coalition aims to provide support to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of IT, communications, and cybersecurity.
Currently, the coalition includes 14 partner countries and Ukraine. Finland and Spain joined the coalition in September, and several more countries are expected to join soon.
