A fire broke out at an oil facility in the Rostov region (Russian Federation) today, August 18, due to drone strikes.

This was reported by the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, and Russian media.

According to the Russian official, the region’s western area allegedly "repelled an attack by aircraft-type drones" during the night. Later, he wrote on his Telegram channel about another "repelled attack" by drones, this time in the southeast of the Rostov region.

"As a result of debris falling on the premises of industrial warehouses in Proletarsk, a diesel fuel fire broke out. Firefighting units were dispatched to extinguish it," stated the governor.

However, he later clarified that "at 05:35, due to a repeated drone attack, the firefighting efforts at the industrial facility in Proletarsk were suspended."

Meanwhile, footage of the fire at the oil facilities has been shared online. Russian media reports that the oil depot is ablaze due to a drone strike.
