In the next two days, the network will be flooded with statements, theories, and predictions.
Here’s what to focus on:
- The initial absurdity of the offer presented to Ukraine: "You owe us 500 billion. No justifications. Secure them with your resources. No security guarantees."
- The terms have changed, but... the lack of security guarantees remains unchanged.
- I believe this is a planned, calculated provocation. What is the goal behind it?
- Let me remind you that back in 2024, it was the Republicans who blocked decisions regarding military aid to Ukraine. Yes, it was a political ping-pong with Biden, but Ukraine lost.
- Let me also remind you that Trump, disconnected from reality, accused Zelensky of dictatorship, destroying peaceful towns, and essentially waging a war that’s taking the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
- After yesterday, Trump accused Zelensky of wanting to sign an agreement with the U.S. and continue fighting (!!) What? This seems surreal, but no. This is a planned campaign in the style of Black Mirror.
The victim country, attacked and promised security guarantees that were not fulfilled, which is defending itself after being expected to fall within three days, is being accused of wanting to continue the war.
There are more questions than answers for now. This strongly resembles the theory that Ukraine was long ago divided without Ukrainians, and now the process of legitimization is happening. Very roughly. Clumsily. Simplistically.
There is no sound logic behind the actions of the U.S. Trump’s actions seem more like an attempt to "grab" what they can while there’s still a chance. Allowing Russia to carry out their plans of seizing Ukraine, and then jointly extracting natural resources afterward.
This is not about humanitarianism, human values, peace, or democracy.
It seems that both the U.S. (Trump administration) and Putin view Ukraine like a pig on a butcher's board.
As someone with 25 years of experience in business negotiations, including deals worth over $1 billion, I have a clear feeling that the recent meeting in Washington wasn't about a Ukraine-US agreement but rather the realization of a US-Russia deal.
Every action has its motives and objectives.
Let me remind you that Trump’s goal is to pull Russia away from China. To achieve this, Russia is being handed Ukraine — its territory, people, Kyiv, and history.
Consider the previous US-Russia negotiations. But before completing this deal, Trump wanted to secure rights to all (!) of Ukraine’s natural resources, infrastructure, and ports.
After Ukraine is handed over to Russia, there will be a joint development of resources and management of infrastructure.
How else can we explain:
- The categorical refusal to discuss security guarantees
- Accusations that Ukraine wants to continue fighting, not Russia
- Obstruction of military and financial aid to Ukraine
- Yet, an ongoing interest in Ukraine’s resources and infrastructure?
Overall, the main reflection right now is that Trump has struck a deal with Putin to divide Ukraine, and we are standing in the way of it.
This is a subjective assessment as of the morning after these events.
As new details emerge, we will expand the picture.
