The activity of Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups has decreased, but the highest number of them is still recorded in the Sumy region.
This was stated by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, during a TV broadcast.
"The activity of enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups is significantly lower now, but the enemy has not abandoned its sabotage operations. Most of these attempts are recorded in the Sumy direction. It is in this section of the border with Russia that the enemy’s most recent groups attempting to infiltrate Ukrainian territory have been exposed, and measures were taken to neutralize them and push them back from our land... With some regularity, Russian sabotage groups still attempt to infiltrate the Sumy region," Demchenko reported.
He added that Ukrainian forces are well aware of the threat posed by such actions, and therefore, all components of the Defense Forces are working together, using surveillance technology to detect such groups and strike them in time.
