ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased coke production by 44%

According to the results for May, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased production of its main products, including coke, by 44%. This was reported by the company's press service.

"Compared to April 2024, coke production increased by 44% (127 thousand tons compared to 88 thousand tons), pig iron by 40% (247 thousand tons compared to 177 thousand tons). Steel production in May 2024 amounted to 208 thousand tons, which is 28% higher than the previous month, and rolled products increased by 27% to 193 thousand tons," the statement said. It is noted that production volumes increased compared to May 2023: pig iron by 15%, steel by 68%, and rolled products by 66%.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih emphasizes that the increase in production volumes of metallurgical products is associated with the launch of blast furnace No. 6 and coke batteries No. 3-4 in the second half of April.

However, due to significant constraints in the supply of electricity, the mining department was forced to reduce the production of iron ore concentrate by 15% compared to the previous month.

As previously reported, the production of main types of metallurgical products at PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih for the first quarter of 2024 increased by 50% to 94% compared to the first quarter of 2023, depending on the type of product.
