Aleksey Arestovich, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Administration, commented on the US decision to allocate another 18 M777 howitzers to Ukraine.

He stated this during a conversation with Mark Feygin. In his opinion, this is enough to put the Russian troops in a very unpleasant situation, but much more is needed.

“Is it a lot or not? Well, in principle, it’s enough to put the Russian troops in crisis, to create big trouble for the attackers if we go on the offensive," he said.

At the same time, Arestovich does not consider these supplies adequate to the needs and demands of Ukraine: "In reality, we need 2-3 times more, at least twice. Maybe they will give more."

United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that he envisages a new $1 billion aid package for Ukraine. According to him, this package will include guided projectiles for multiple launch rocket systems.

In addition, the aid package will include 18 M777 howitzers and 18 tactical vehicles to tow these howitzers, as well as 36,000 155mm rounds.
