Arestovich: It wasn't Israel that chose sides. Putin himself who pushed Israel to a position opposite to Russia

Former presidential advisor and military analyst Alexey Arestovich, during an interview on Israeli "Best Radio," expressed his viewpoint on the official visit of Hamas to Moscow.

"Putin has chosen a side and is persistently implementing it in real life. This side was chosen within a certain logic, so to speak. This logic has brought together Pyongyang, Beijing, Tehran, Damascus, Moscow, and Putin, remaining true to his alliance commitments, openly supports those who have committed atrocities in Israel. For a person who has been awarded a Guards title, i.e., the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade, which did the same in Bucha and who officially approved the massacre, his actions do not come as a surprise now.

It's all within the framework of the established logic. It's all exceedingly logical. Now, as for Israel, I congratulate them on gaining insight regarding what the Russian Federation, led by Vladimir Putin, truly is.

The issue is that in the position Israel held, the fact that they didn't supply weapons to Ukraine was only part of the problem. Israel remained faithful as long as the positions were not set in stone. Now, with the positions having been defined, we will see how the Israeli government will behave. While there was room to maneuver within Israeli conditions, maneuvering was necessary. Although Netanyahu with the ribbon at the Mausoleum won't be forgotten anytime soon, right?

And, above all, the Russians in Israel won't forget him soon. Because even the immigrants who came from Russia are largely shocked by what Putin is doing.

The thing is, it wasn't Israel that chose sides. Israel could maneuver for a long time, but it was Putin himself who pushed Israel to a position opposite to Russia. And what about the endless anti-Semitic statements from Lavrov and Putin? How should all of that be characterized? Now he has invited Hamas. Even Erdogan pushed Hamas away; they didn't accept them at the government level. This is despite the fact that Erdogan stated that he doesn't consider Hamas terrorists and actively strained relations with Israel, demonstrating pan-Islamic unity. But it never occurred to them to accept Hamas at the government level. Yet, Putin went ahead and did just that.

So, he welcomed the murderers of your children, your mothers, your soldiers, your girls, and so on. What more is needed to understand whom you're dealing with in the form of Putin?

And yes, this is somewhat of a rhetorical question. You all understand this perfectly well, don't you? I'm addressing those in the Israeli government who might try to pretend that it's not yet time to take a stance."
