Russian commanders are sending soldiers to storm islands in the Dnipro as punishment. This applies to those who have misbehaved and others as well.
According to the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar military movement Atesh, agents from Russia’s 61st Marine Brigade report that storming the islands in the Kherson region is no longer just a combat mission but a form of punishment.
Commanders are sending soldiers into near-certain death—targeting troublemakers, those who violate discipline, and even those who refuse to contribute money to unit funds
"Soldiers know that landing on the islands is becoming increasingly difficult due to constant breakdowns of boats and jet skis—sabotaged by Russian troops themselves using our instructions. Everyone understands that such deployment is practically a death sentence, and many try to avoid it by any means. Those with money bribe their commanders to be removed from the assault lists," reports ATESH.
These missions are effectively a "one-way ticket," prompting soldiers to attempt bribing their commanders to avoid being sent.
