The United Kingdom has provided Ukraine with £3.5 billion (approximately $4.5 billion) for the procurement of modern military equipment from British manufacturers.

This was reported on the UK government website.

It is noted that a trade mission, which included representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Department for Business and Trade, and the defense association ADS, visited Ukraine to discuss further cooperation with the Ukrainian government and industry representatives.

This mission continues an agreement signed in July 2024 that allows Ukraine to spend £3.5 billion (about $4.5 billion) on purchasing modern military equipment from British producers.

The British mission was led by Luke Pollard, the Deputy Secretary of State for the Armed Forces. He stated:

"The UK’s support for Ukraine is ironclad. We continue to lead the way in providing military aid, but our support is much broader than simply providing equipment. Our flourishing defence industrial relationship symbolises the work happening across Government and the private sector to ramp up and speed up our support."

One of the key agreements from this mission was an understanding of Ukraine's needs for complex weaponry and ground systems. This served as a "signal" for the British defense industry, which is already preparing to fulfill future orders.

Additionally, the UK Ministry of Defense has signed "several important contracts" with British companies.

Among other agreements, one was made with Thales for the supply of missiles for air defense and with Sheffield Forgemasters for the manufacture of forgings for artillery guns.

Furthermore, the intergovernmental Task Force HIRST team is working on stimulating industrial production and expanding international cooperation with Ukrainian companies.
