In Bulgaria, movement of decommissioned self-propelled artillery units 2S1 Gvozdika has been recorded.

Additionally, Bulgarian photographer Tsvetan Alexandrov published images showing the movement of a large number of BRDM-2 armored vehicles.

The decommissioned 122mm artillery units "Gvozdika" were stored in fairly favorable conditions and remained in good condition.

On the other hand, the BRDM-2 armored vehicles appear worn and will likely require significant restoration. Machine guns were also removed from the BRDM-2 vehicles.

Tsvetan Alexandrov stated that he took the photos in the town of Novi Iskar in the Sofia city region.

According to the photographer, the military equipment is intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Military equipment from the Bulgarian army's deep military reserve in the district is heading to Ukraine," said Tsvetan Alexandrov.

The 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units were serially produced in the Soviet Union since 1971. The units were also produced under license in Poland since 1971 and in Bulgaria since 1979.

The Bulgarian version was supplied to the Soviet army and differed little from the Soviet model of the 2S1.

The main reconnaissance armored vehicle, BRDM-2, was introduced into service as early as 1962.

Typically armed with a 14.5mm heavy machine gun KPVT paired with a 7.62mm machine gun PKT in a turret installation.
