Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov met with Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic Karel Hirman. The parties met in Uzhhorod in the framework of the meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovak Intergovernmental Commission.
The parties discussed the work of the energy system in the context of russia's continued massive attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Karel Hirman emphasized that Slovakia was ready to provide the Ukrainian party with materials and equipment for the repair works.
"The capacity of cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia is quite large and only partially used. There is a potential for projects during the war, as well as for projects to develop a sustainable energy sector after our victory," said Yaroslav Demchenkov.
In addition, the Deputy Minister emphasized the prospects of Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation to increase the capacity of interconnectors and hydrocarbon production, as well as the implementation of the project for the supply of various types of oil through the pipeline Southern Friendship using the infrastructure of Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
Yaroslav Demchenkov emphasized the prospects for the development of alternative generations, which can prevent energy crises in the future. He stressed that according to the developed plans, the share of RES in the structure of Ukrainian generation by 2030 should be at least 25%, and the share of nuclear carbon-free generation should be at least 50%.
During the working visit Deputy Minister also took part in the Ukrainian-Slovak Business Forum and held a number of meetings with representatives of Slovak businesses.
Yaroslav Demchenkov invited representatives of Slovak business to join the development of projects for the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector, which will be based on modern energy efficient and carbon-free technologies.
