As of September 2025, PJSC Ukrainian Danube Shipping (UDP) is showing steady improvement in both operational and financial performance.

This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development.

UDP has significantly increased the efficiency of its river cargo fleet. In particular, compared to the first quarter, in the third quarter:

  • The average number of convoys increased 3.8 times;
  • The average monthly cargo volume on the river fleet rose by 43%;
  • Backhaul volumes of vessels doubled.

The company is also negotiating with maritime fleet charterers on new routes and transport terms, which will expand its geographic operations in the fourth quarter, the ministry added.

At the same time, thanks to cost optimization measures and improved managerial discipline:

  • Operating losses were reduced 1.5 times, and net losses decreased 1.8 times;
  • The share of fixed costs in production costs fell by 8%, and administrative expenses were nearly halved;
  • Average monthly cash inflows increased by 46%, while fixed operational payments decreased by 10%.

“UDP is undergoing a period of profound renewal. We are seeing real changes — from increased fleet efficiency to the implementation of corporate governance standards that bring the company closer to European practices. The creation of a Supervisory Board is an important step that will ensure the sustainability of these changes and the company’s long-term stability,” said Andriy Kashuba, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development.
