Last night, drones attacked the Astrakhan gas processing plant in Russia.

This was announced on Telegram by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

“The Astrakhan gas processing plant has been attacked. It is one of Russia’s key energy facilities, responsible for processing gas condensate and producing gasoline, diesel fuel, and more,” he wrote.

Kovalenko noted that the plant plays a role in Russia’s military-industrial complex, as the fuel and energy sector is a primary source of financing for the country’s defense industry.

According to Russian Telegram channels, drones attacked the gas processing plant near Astrakhan. Local residents reported air defense activity and signs of a fire at the facility following the drone strike.

The Astrakhan gas processing plant is located at the Astrakhan gas condensate field and processes natural gas and gas condensate.
