The eighth festival of children's art for children and teenagers "Children Film Festival" will take place from May 28 to June 6, 2021 in more than 20 cities of Ukraine.


Children Film Festival is an annual international Film Art festival for children and teenagers, which introduces young Ukrainian audiences to both the latest European films and world film classics. The annual film-winner of the festival is determined by direct voting of the audience - at the entrance to the cinema, each visitor receives a bulletin with which to evaluate the film.

The mission of the Children Film Festival is to develop in Ukraine the tradition of joint family screenings of films and to involve children in the creation of films. Attendance at shows and online viewing are free, by prior registration on the website.

The competition programme traditionally includes seven children's films selected at the largest European film forums. Children Film Festival will open with a fantastic animated film by Anatoliy Lavrenishin "Victor_Robot", which represents Ukraine in this year's competition program. The film has already been awarded the Audience Award of the Odessa International Film Festival and the Cinema Circle Award.

When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit (2019)

A Jewish family had to flee from the Nazis from Berlin. First, they flee to Zurich. From there it goes to Paris and finally to London.

Far future. An artificial star, which is supposed to provide energy to the planet around it, does not work. The only one who can fix it is little Vicky's grandfather, who created this luminary. However, he mysteriously disappears. The girl, together with her assistant, a tiny robot Victor, sets out to find him. This is how the exciting adventures of two friends begin.

Ukrainian celebrities presented their voices to the main characters: Rimma Zyubina, Viktor Zhdanov, Vasily Mazur, Bogdan Benyuk, Anatoly Khostikoev. The film features hit soundtracks performed by Dakh Daughters, Anton Slepakov (Car Drivers), Maryana Golovko and Mark Galanevich (DakhaBrakha).

The film was created by the animation studio "Chervony Dog" with the support of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema.

Traditionally, young spectators act as the jury of the festival and vote for the films they like the most. The winner of the international competition will be selected by counting the audience votes and announced at the online closing ceremony of the festival on June 6.

A special event this year will be the screening of the Hungarian animated film "Vuk - The Fox Cub", based on children's stories by Istvan Fekete, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Also within the framework of the Children Film Festival, the audience will see the works of the finalists of the Fifth Short Film Competition, shot by Ukrainian children aged 7 to 14. The winners of the competition will be chosen by a professional jury, and the audience of the festival throughout Ukraine will vote to choose the winner in the nomination "Audience Award".

As always, the festival will be closed by the winner of the Grand Prix of the previous year - the Ukrainian fantasy adventure film "Foxter & Max" by Anatoliy Mateshko. The film will be available online at the site.

Registration for each film of the Children Film Festival begins four days before its screening. So, you can register for the opening film of the "Victor_Robot" festival from May 24, for "How Hitler stole a pink rabbit" - from May 25, etc. Anyone can register for the screenings - for this you need to choose the city and movies to watch, as well as fill out an electronic form on the site "Children Film Festival".

Singer and songwriter Christina Solovey became the honorary ambassador of the 2021 festival.
