On the night of July 26, Russia once again attacked Ukraine, targeting energy infrastructure and a dormitory.
A major air raid alert was declared around midnight in Ukraine due to the launch of a MiG-31K in Russia. Additionally, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the launch of kamikaze drones, with drone movements recorded in the north and south of Ukraine.
During the night, Russia launched 22 strike drones at Ukraine from two directions: Cape Chauda in Crimea and Kursk. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down 20 Shahed drones. Air defense systems were active in four regions: Kherson, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv.
Additionally, the Russian forces fired an Iskander-M ballistic missile at the Donetsk region.
It was reported that drones targeted energy infrastructure in two regions of Ukraine, hitting Ukrenergo facilities in the Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions.
Ukrenergo reported power outages in certain areas of the Zhytomyr region. By morning, energy supply was almost fully restored, but repair work continues.
Regional consequences:
- Chernihiv region: Russian drones targeted the city of Nizhyn, hitting infrastructure and a residential dormitory. One person was injured in the attack.
- Zhytomyr region: Shahed drone debris damaged civilian infrastructure and energy facilities. The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration reported no casualties from the nighttime strike.
- Kyiv region: For the third consecutive night, the region was attacked by drones. The air raid alert lasted over two hours, and air defense systems were active. No hits on residential or critical infrastructure were reported.
- Donetsk region: The Russian army shelled the city of Kramatorsk, targeting an industrial area, resulting in a fire at one of the enterprises. There were no casualties.
