Russian forces continue their attempts to establish a foothold in the island zone at the mouth of the Dnipro River.
From January 20 to January 26, 19 attempts to carry out assault actions were recorded, according to Lieutenant Pavlo Drohal, spokesperson for the Kherson operational-tactical group.
"Russian forces continue their attempts to establish a foothold in the island zone at the mouth of the Dnipro River, conducting artillery strikes on the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure," the statement reads.
Over the period from January 20 to January 26, the Russian forces carried out 529 shelling attacks and 3 airstrikes.
Additionally, Drohal reported 19 attempts at assault actions. All advances by Russian forces were repelled by Ukrainian defenders. The Russian forces suffered 122 casualties (dead and wounded) and 51 units of weapons and military equipment destroyed.
