Russian soldiers in Syria are awaiting evacuation after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime. They are drinking and engaging in looting.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense on Telegram.
According to Main Intelligence Directorate, the remaining Russian military contingent in Syria is being moved to Russia's naval base in Tartus and the Russian airbase in Khmeimim.
"Those Russians who have reached the evacuation points are usually drinking and looting while waiting for their flight," the intelligence service clarified.
Main Intelligence Directorate emphasizes that 4-5 military transport planes are flying daily between Khmeimim and Russian airfields.
Additionally, Russia has sent its large landing ships "Ivan Gren" and "Alexander Ostrahovskiy" to Tartus to transport military equipment and weapons. As of now, the ships are in the Norwegian Sea and are expected to pass through the English Channel in a few days.
Also, the Russian cargo ship Sparta, which left the city of Baltiysk, is heading to Tartus. The Sparta II vessel, which left St. Petersburg, is also en route.
Intelligence officers note that the commander of the Russian contingent, Colonel General Alexander Chayko, has ordered the repair of military equipment being evacuated from Syria.
