Since the summer of 2023, the Russian Federation has intensified the inspection and preparation of nuclear weapons. This was stated by Vadim Skybytsky, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"As of today, we see Russia's activity in checking and preparing nuclear facilities both on its territory and on the territory of Belarus, where corresponding inspection events were conducted," he said in an interview with Ukrainian Truth.
According to him, Ukrainian intelligence observed such activity by the Russians this summer. However, it is too early to speak of a real threat of Moscow using tactical nuclear weapons.
At the same time, according to Skybytsky, the hypothetical nuclear strike "is not as terrifying as Russia claims." The Russians have committed enough military crimes on the territory of Ukraine, such as the explosion of the dam at the Kakhovska HPP.
