Defence Intelligence: Russia is redeploying air defense systems to Moscow and the Kerch Bridge

Ukrainian intelligence has obtained internal Russian documents according to which Russia is transferring air defense systems from regional areas to Moscow and the Kerch Bridge, weakening protection in other directions on its own territory and on occupied territories of Ukraine.

The head of state reported this on Telegram following a briefing by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Oleh Ivashchenko.

“Intelligence obtained internal Russian documents containing a real assessment of the consequences of Ukraine’s long-range sanctions. Measures taken by the Russian leadership in response to the situation have also been recorded. One such measure is the relocation of air defense systems from Russian regions to Moscow and to the Kerch Bridge. In fact, these two perimeters have been designated for priority protection at the expense of weakening other directions on Russian territory and on temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. We will draw conclusions,” he wrote.

Zelensky added that a separate briefing concerned the state of Russian missile production and strategic military aviation.

“We are preparing new, entirely justified response steps to Russia’s prolongation of the war and strikes on Ukrainian territory. It is important that as many Russians as possible understand that the war is being prolonged due to the refusal of the Russian leadership to engage in diplomacy. Ukraine has provided substantive diplomatic proposals. Thank you to everyone who is defending our state and our people,” the statement reads.
