Russia is launching an information operation to strain Ukraine's relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia. A fake narrative is spreading in Armenia, alleging that Ukraine is attempting to provoke a conflict.
The Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence reports this.
A disinformation campaign in Armenian media accuses Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence of allegedly trying to initiate or escalate an armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
This fake news is actively spreading through Telegram channels, claiming that a new war between the two countries would force Russia to open a "second front," supposedly benefiting Ukraine.
The operation is based on a forged report, allegedly from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence, addressed to Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk.
The document contains multiple blatant errors, such as "Їван" instead of "Іван" and "СДР" instead of "ЄДРПОУ," indicating its inauthenticity. Additionally, it does not meet any official formatting standards for Ukrainian government documents.
This information operation is part of a broader campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine internationally and deteriorating its relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"The purpose of this operation is to discredit Ukraine and damage Ukrainian-Armenian and Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations, serving the interests of the aggressor state, Russia," Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence stated.
