Four heroic defenders of Mariupol were given the unique opportunity to master the art of cooking under the guidance of legendary French chef, Michelin-star holder Thierry Marx. In early October, Volodymyr Kapchuk, Denys Dytchenko, Yevhen Khazan, and Vitalii Aheiev traveled to Toulouse to study at the prestigious culinary school "Cuisine Mode d'Emploi(s)" and have since received their diplomas.
This was reported by the NGO Heart of Azovstal.
At the culinary school, the defenders learned the secrets of French cuisine and the intricacies of baking, as well as honed their skills working with the best professionals. The course included both theoretical lessons and practical sessions under the guidance of experienced chefs. After earning their diplomas, the participants will be able to apply their newfound knowledge in their work, including at the La Cantine restaurant. This establishment, one of the program's organizers, actively supports displaced persons and the defenders of Mariupol.
The project is being implemented thanks to the efforts of the NGO STAND WITH UKRAINE, the culinary school CUISINE MODE D'EMPLOI(s) led by Thierry Marx, the Mariupol City Council, and the NGO Heart of Azovstal. This initiative has become a symbol of support and hope for the defenders, who are now opening new horizons.
